TL;DR
Format a professional, AP-style press release in minutes — you bring the news, we handle the structure.
What is Press Release Generator?
The Vinespire Press Release Generator is a free browser tool that formats your announcement into standard AP-style structure: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, headline, dateline with em dashes, body, attributed quotes, About boilerplate, media contact, and the closing ### mark.
It does not write your headline, lede, or persuasive copy, and it does not call an LLM. You provide the news; we assemble the document shape journalists and wire desks expect. It also does not distribute or submit the release anywhere — you still email reporters or use a distribution service.
A short newsworthiness checklist sits above the form so you can decide whether a release is the right format versus a blog or social update. That honesty protects your credibility and matches Vinespire’s authority-through-clarity positioning.

Is this actually newsworthy?
Good press release material usually includes at least one of: a funding round or acquisition, a genuinely new product launch, a notable partnership, a significant hire (C-suite / notable industry figure), original research or data your company is releasing, or a meaningful company milestone (not just “we redesigned our website”). If what you're announcing doesn't fit one of these, a blog post or LinkedIn update is usually a better format than a press release.
Guidance only — the form below stays available either way. This tool formats your words; it does not write the news or send it to journalists.
Aim for roughly 60–80 characters.
Classic who / what / when / where / why. We structure it into the dateline line — we don't invent your news.
Body paragraphs
2–4 recommended — detail, significance, customer benefit
Quote block
Strongly recommended — at least one attributed quote
A quote from a named executive strengthens credibility. You can still generate without one.
Media contact *
Preview updates live. Incomplete fields show as [placeholders] so you can see the shape while drafting.
- • Company name is recommended.
- • Headline is missing.
- • City is missing for the dateline.
- • State/region is missing for the dateline.

What this means
Download note: true .docx would require an extra zip/XML library. We use plain .txt plus Word-openable HTML .doc with zero added dependencies — deliberate bundle choice for free tools.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [Headline] [City], [State] — July 18, 2026 — [Lede: who/what/when/where/why — write this yourself.] About [Company] [2–4 sentences: what the company does, founding context, website.] Media Contact: [Contact name] [email@company.com] ###
This tool formats your release — it doesn't distribute or submit it anywhere. You'll still need to send it to journalists directly or use a distribution service.

What actually happens after you send a press release
Formatting is the easy part. After you hit send, most releases compete for scarce reporter attention. Direct outreach to journalists who already cover your beat still outperforms blind mass blasts when the news is real. Paid wire services can create a timestamped public URL and some syndication, but they rarely equal “pickup” on tier-one outlets by themselves — and low-quality wire farms can look spammy if overused.
Realistic expectations help: many solid announcements get zero coverage. That does not mean the release was useless — it can align internal messaging, equip partners, and live on your newsroom page. It does mean a template is not a media strategy. Relationships, exclusive angles, data, and timing matter more than perfect ### placement (though correct structure still signals professionalism).
For long-term discoverability — including AI answers about your brand — pair real news with consistent entity signals on your site: Organization schema, clear About copy, and third-party mentions that match the story you told. A press release supports that narrative; it does not replace it. Vinespire’s free AI Search Readiness Checker and Organization Schema Generator help with the site side after the embargo lifts.
How it works
Follow these numbered steps to use this Vinespire free tool. Each step is self-contained so answer engines can cite the process accurately.
Fill in your announcement details
Company, headline, dateline, and lede (who/what/when/where/why) — you write the substance.
Add a quote
Attribute at least one executive quote (name, title, text). Multiple quotes supported.
Add your boilerplate
About section: what you do, context, website — plus media contact details.
Preview and download
Copy plain text or download .txt / Word-openable .doc. We never send the release for you.
Understanding your results
The preview is your text in standard release order. Bracketed placeholders mean a field is still empty. Quotes are formatted with AP-style attribution; nested quotation marks inside spoken quotes are normalized so punctuation stays clean.
- No LLM writing and no media distribution from Vinespire.
- Soft headline length guidance (~60–80 chars) — not a hard cap.
- Use .txt for email body; Word-openable .doc when an attachment is required.
