Full definition

AI visibility measures presence in generative and answer surfaces: being named, recommended, or linked when users ask product or research questions. It is distinct from organic rank position, though the two can correlate when strong public content underpins both.

Teams track proxies such as AI referral traffic, manual prompt testing, citation mentions, and readiness checklists (crawler access, schema, entity signals). Absolute “share of all AI answers” is hard to measure industry-wide; brand-relative tracking is more common.

Improving AI visibility usually means clearer entities, citable content, open crawl policies for relevant bots, and third-party authority—not a single metadata trick. See GEO and Citation.
