Full definition

Schema.org FAQPage contains Question entities, each with a name (the question text) and acceptedAnswer. Markup must reflect content visible to users; invisible or keyword-stuffed FAQs violate rich-result guidelines.

FAQ structured data can enable FAQ rich results where eligible and makes Q&A blocks easier to extract for answer engines. It is not a guarantee of SERP features or AI citations.

AEO practice often pairs concise answer-first FAQ copy with FAQPage JSON-LD so both people and systems can reuse the same structure. See HowTo Schema, AEO, and Structured Data.

Example

A pricing FAQ page marks “Do you offer annual billing?” with a short acceptedAnswer paragraph that matches the visible accordion text.
