This term is part of the full AI search glossary.

Full definition

Typical items include robots access for key AI and search agents, sitemaps, canonical hygiene, Organization or LocalBusiness schema, llms.txt or clear docs hubs, NAP consistency, and answer-ready pages for core intents. Checklists turn vague “be ready for AI” advice into binary or scored tasks.

Passing a checklist does not guarantee citations; it removes common blockers and raises the ceiling for retrieval. Failures should map to owners and fix dates.

Re-run after major site launches, bot policy changes, or model-drift events. See GEO Score, Visibility Probe, and AI Visibility.

Example

Before a product launch, marketing verifies GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot allow rules, Product schema on PDPs, and an updated FAQ hub linked from the homepage.
