Full definition

Google’s quality guidance elevates “experience” within EEAT for many queries: product reviews, travel write-ups, procedural guides, and similar intents benefit from proof the author actually did the thing. Signals can include original photos, detailed process notes, specific measurements, and transparent methodology—not stock claims of “we tested everything” without substance.

Experience does not replace expertise or trust; fabricated experience is a trust failure. Different query types weight experience differently (for example, medical advice still needs appropriate credentials).

For AI search, concrete experiential detail is harder to hallucinate consistently and often more citable than generic summaries. See EEAT, Topical Authority, and Citation.

Example

A SaaS comparison includes screenshots from a real trial workspace and notes on a failed import the author debugged, rather than only rewriting vendor marketing pages.
