Full definition

Knowledge panels typically appear for queries that resolve to a known entity and may show logo, description, social profiles, related people, or official site links. They are generated from Google’s knowledge systems and public sources, not from a single paid submission form alone.

Influencing a panel involves entity clarity: consistent official sites, sameAs-quality profiles, Wikipedia/Wikidata where appropriate, structured data, and authoritative third-party mentions. There is no guaranteed “claim and edit everything” path for every entity type.

Panels are a classic entity SEO surface; AI answers often reuse similar fact sets. See Knowledge Graph, sameAs, and Brand SERPs.
