Full definition

Gemini covers Google’s generative models and product surfaces that use them—standalone Gemini chat, integrations in Workspace and Android, and generative features that may appear alongside Search. Capabilities can include text, images, and other modalities depending on the product version.

From an AI search perspective, Gemini matters both as a chat-style answer engine and as part of Google’s broader AI stack that includes AI Overviews, AI Mode experiments, and Google-Extended crawl preferences. Brand visibility may differ between classic organic results and Gemini-generated answers.

Technical SEO still underpins what Google systems can fetch for Search; generative AI uses may be governed by additional product tokens. See AI Overview, Google AI Mode, and Google-Extended.
