Core Web Vitals summarize real-user experience using Largest Contentful Paint (loading), Interaction to Next Paint (responsiveness), and Cumulative Layout Shift (stability). Google reports them in tools such as Search Console and may use page experience signals among many ranking factors.
Lab scores (Lighthouse) help debug; field data (CrUX) reflects actual users. Thresholds define “good,” “needs improvement,” and “poor” buckets that change over time as Google updates guidance.
